Seat Arona Heating Problems Solar Sensor Fault

Okay, so I'm kinda losing it with my 2020 Seat Arona. It's a gasoline engine, done about 145449 km, and the heating is pathetic! The error memory keeps throwing up a 'solar sensor fault'. Basically, the car thinks it's sunny all the time, even when it's freezing! I reckon it's a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone dealt with this before? My mechanic quoted around 95€ for the fix. Seems steep for a stupid sunlight sensor. Is this common on these? It's like the HVAC sensor is totally off. I'm freezing here!

Whoa, sounds familiar! Had a similar issue with my old Renault Clio. Turned out to be a faulty temperature sensor. Is your air con also acting up?

Temperature sensor, eh? Was it a pain to get to? And how did you figure out it was the sensor in the first place?

Yeah, mine was a pain, tucked away near the dashboard. I took it to a shop in the end. They ran diagnostics and confirmed the sensor fault. If you suspect a cable issue, maybe check for obvious frays or loose connections, but honestly, at that price, maybe just let a workshop sort it. Could save you a lot of hassle.

Dude, that's exactly what it was! The sunlight sensor cable was dodgy. 95€ later, and my heating's blasting hot air again. Thanks a million for sharing your experience!
