Seat Arona Overheating Issue

My Seat Arona (2021, gasoline engine) is giving me some grief. It has about 104563 km on it. The instrument cluster sometimes displays weird temperature readings and the check engine light is illuminated. Also, the engine seems to take a long time to warm up. Could this be related to the cooling grille or radiator blockage? I saw something about a fuse being defective.

Faulty temperature readings and the check engine light could indicate a few things. Restricted airflow to the radiator can definitely cause those symptoms. Have you checked for any obvious radiator blockage? Is the cooling fan operating as it should?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen any obvious radiator blockage, but I'll take another look. How can I check if the cooling fan is operating correctly, besides just listening for it?

If there's no visible radiator blockage, a defective fuse is a real possibility. It controls the cooling system thermal management. As for the cooling fan, it should activate when the engine gets hot. If it's not running even after the engine has been running for a while, that's an issue. At that mileage, consider getting the cooling system inspected at a workshop.

I wanted to thank you for your help. It turned out to be a defective fuse for the cooling grille thermal management. I replaced it, and the error codes disappeared. It cost me 52€ at the local shop. I appreciate the input.
