Seat Arona Overheating Problem

I am writing to report a problem with my 2018 Seat Arona, equipped with a diesel engine. The vehicle has accumulated 109328 km. Recently, the check engine light illuminated, and I have observed the engine overheating. Initial research suggests a potential active air flap fault. Could this be the reason for the car overheating? Is the likely cause a defective electromechanism?

I appreciate you confirming the issue. I took the Arona to a trusted workshop, and after a diagnostic scan, they confirmed the active air flap fault. The flap motor was indeed defective and was causing the car overheating issue. Replacement cost amounted to 590€.
