Seat Arosa central locking malfunction

Help! My 2000 Seat Arosa with a diesel engine is playing up. The central locking has completely stopped working! I can't lock or unlock the doors, and there's some error stored in the memory. Could it really be just a defective cable or plug connection, and is it worth fixing?

Central locking problems on Arosas are a pain, aren't they? Had something similar happen to mine. Have you checked the fuses? It could also be a faulty connection somewhere. Does the remote locking work at all, or is it completely dead?

When you say dodgy connection, where exactly was it? I'm not great with cars, but maybe I could have a quick look myself before taking it to a garage.

Yeah, same symptoms. It was a connector block near the door lock mechanism itself. Honestly, unless you're comfortable fiddling with car electrics, I'd just take it to a workshop. You don't want to mess with the security system and make things worse, do you?

Just got it sorted at the workshop. They said it was a dodgy connection like you suspected. Cost me 95€ but at least my Arosa's security system is working again!
