Seat Arosa Diesel Fuel Filter Heater Issue

My 2001 Seat Arosa diesel is playing up. Getting an error code related to the fuel filter heater. Symptoms: reduced engine power, poor engine response, lumpy idle and fuel consumption's gone up. Suspect it's the cable or plug. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Arosa. Rough idle and gutless performance. Have you checked the fuel filter?

Yeah, I've swapped out the fuel filter, but no change. Did yours throw up any error codes? I'm getting one related to the fuel filter heater.

Ah, the fuel filter heater! Yes, that was it. The error code confirmed it. I tried cleaning the contacts, but it didn't last. Best to get it checked out at a workshop. They can test the heater and wiring properly.

Sorted it. Plug on the fuel filter heater was corroded. Cleaned it and it's all good. Cost 95€, including a fuel filter replacement. Runs like new. Thanks again!
