Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't noticed any weird fan noise, but I'll definitely listen more closely next time I drive it. When yours was overheating, did the fan ever come on, or was it completely dead? And how did you figure out it was the fan?

In my case, the radiator fan would only come on intermittently, and eventually, not at all. Given your symptoms and the age of the car, I'd suspect the speed sensor is defective. It's best to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact cause of the overheating issue.

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on! Turns out the speed sensor was faulty and messed with the cooling system. They replaced it, and the check engine light is off, and the car isn't overheating anymore. Cost me about 250€, which is a pain, but at least it's fixed. Really appreciate the help!

Overheating and a check engine light on your Arosa, sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Arosa. Does the radiator fan kick in at all? Maybe check if you're hearing any unusual fan noise before it overheats. Could be the fan motor itself or even a damaged fan blade. The cooling system is a pain when it gives trouble.
