Fluid level is fine. You mentioned air in the steering system, how would I bleed that?

Bleeding air from the steering system can be tricky without the right tools. Given the error code and the symptoms you're describing, especially the potential connection issue, it might be best to have a workshop take a look. Could prevent further damage to the steering system.

Whoa, vibrating steering wheel and spongy handling? Sounds like a real headache! Have you checked the power steering fluid level? Is it topped up? Maybe there's air in the steering system?
