Seat Arosa Sunroof Not Initialized Error

I'm having an issue with my 2000 Seat Arosa with a gasoline engine. The sunroof shows a 'not initialized' error. The sunblind gets stuck, the convertible top won't open or close, and the sunblind doesn't retract. I think it might be from recent coding. I've checked the fuses, but no luck. Any ideas?

Sounds like a pain! I had a similar issue with my Arosa after messing with the car's computer. Have you checked the sunroof system fuse? Also, did you try any specific reset procedures for the sunroof mechanism?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses, all seem fine. Regarding reset procedures, I've tried disconnecting the battery for a while, but that didn't help. Could you elaborate on the reset procedures you mentioned? Is there a specific sequence or tool required for the sunroof calibration?

Disconnecting the battery won't cut it. Mine needed a proper reset via the diagnostic port. I'd suggest a workshop with the right tools to calibrate the sunroof. They'll sort out the sunroof mechanism quickly.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out the sunroof system needed a reset after some coding was done. They performed a sunroof calibration and it's working perfectly again. Cost me 75€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
