Seat Ateca AC Compressor Problem

Interesting. Where exactly is the pressure sensor located? And how would a low battery cause the AC to fail? I thought those systems were independent. Also, wouldn't a refrigerant leak be obvious?

The pressure sensor should be somewhere along the refrigerant lines, but honestly, I didn't dig that deep myself. Regarding the battery, modern cars are weird; undervoltage can mess with all sorts of systems. It doesn’t necessarily mean the battery is completely dead, just not providing enough juice consistently. As for the refrigerant leak being obvious - not always. Sometimes it's slow enough that you barely notice. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop to get the refrigerant pressure checked. That's what I ended up doing.

Just wanted to close this. Turns out, you were spot on. Took it to the workshop, and they found an undervoltage issue causing the AC compressor to shut off. They cleared the error, checked the AC relay, and did some other checks. All in, cost me 240€. Thanks a lot for your help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Ateca’s HVAC system last summer. AC just quit. Did you check the pressure sensor? Could be a refrigerant leak causing low pressure and shutting everything down. Have you had any issues with the battery lately?
