Seat Ateca air conditioning problem

My 2017 Seat Ateca with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The mileage is at 67186 km. I'm getting an error message and the air conditioning refuses to engage. The error memory points to a defective temperature sensor on the heat exchanger. Could a faulty air conditioning control unit really be the culprit?

I had something similar happen on my Ateca. The air con wouldn't kick on and there was some kind of error showing up. Was the engine cooling affected?

Interesting. When you say 'similar', was it the same temperature sensor issue on the heat exchanger? How did you eventually diagnose it?

Yep, same sensor. First thought was low refrigerant, but that wasn't it. Eventually, I took it to a workshop and they found the faulty temperature sensor. New sensor, system recharged, and all good. Guessing you'll need a similar fix.

It was the temperature sensor on the heat exchanger. Replaced it, and the air conditioning is working. Total cost 980€. Thanks for the help!
