Seat Ateca Alarm Error Resolved

I'm getting pretty frustrated with my 2020 Seat Ateca diesel engine. It's got 67160 km on it, and the anti-theft alarm keeps throwing errors. The security alarm itself doesn't seem to work at all. I've checked the error memory, and it confirms an alarm system malfunction, a false alarm basically. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Ateca. Check if the alarm system is somehow activating the indicators when locking. It could be a coding issue.

Indicators when locking? What do you mean exactly? Is that something to do with the alarm sensor? How did you figure it out?

Yes, the alarm sensor is fine. By 'indicators when locking' I mean the turn signals flashing when you lock the car. Apparently, sometimes the system gets confused and throws errors if this feature is enabled. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop; they can recode the alarm system.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The alarm system was coded to activate optical locking. They recoded it, and the error is gone. Cost me 45€. Thanks for the help.
