Seat Ateca Blower Motor Failure

My 2021 Seat Ateca with a diesel engine has decided it doesn't want to blow air anymore. The blower motor is completely dead. Diagnostic tool shows an error related to the fresh air blower, but doesn't pinpoint the exact cause. I'm suspecting the blower motor itself is faulty. Anyone else had this issue? Any ideas before I end up at the mercy of a mechanic?

A non-functional cabin fan coupled with a stored error strongly suggests a defective blower motor. Have you checked the fuse for the HVAC system?

I have not checked the fuses yet. It seems like the fan speed controller is working, as I can change fan speeds, however, the air conditioning is not working either. Could the fuse being blown still be the issue?

If the fuse is intact, the error memory points to a defective blower motor. Given that the air conditioning is also non-functional, and you've already investigated the fan speed controller without finding any issues, it is very likely the blower motor itself needs to be replaced. I recommend taking the vehicle to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair.

Took the Ateca to the local garage. They confirmed the blower motor was dead, just like you thought! New one installed, 365€ lighter, but at least I have cold air again. Thanks again for your help!
