Interesting. You mentioned a bad fuel injector. Did you also experience higher fuel consumption and power loss? And did the check engine light come on for you too? I'm wondering if it's worth getting the injectors tested before tearing into anything major.

Yeah, all those symptoms were there - the fuel consumption was definitely up, and it felt like the car was struggling, especially uphill. The check engine light was on constantly. Honestly, I'd get it properly diagnosed. Could be a number of things, and you don't want to start replacing parts blindly. A workshop should be able to pinpoint the exact cylinder and issue. Good luck!

Turns out the cylinder pressure issue was a ghost! The diagnostic flagged it as a consequential error. Root cause was a faulty sensor on the intake manifold. Replaced it, cleared the codes, and the Ateca is running smooth again. Zero cost, thankfully! Thanks for your input, really appreciate it.

Cylinder pressure fluctuation, huh? I had something similar with my Ateca, although it was a while back. Did you check the fuel injector? When mine went bad, it caused some weird engine knocking and threw off the cylinder balance. Could also be a head gasket issue, but hopefully not. Has anyone looked at the crankshaft?
