Seat Ateca Diesel Engine Mount Issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a 2023 Seat Ateca diesel experiencing uneven idling and a stored error code, suggesting a potential engine mount issue. The problem was suspected to be related to the integrity of the cable or plug connection within the engine mount assembly. A similar experience was shared, highlighting that the cable and plug connections to the mount are common failure points. Upon inspection, securing the loose plug resolved the issue, eliminating the error and vibration, thus avoiding a potential repair cost.

Thank you for the quick response! When you say check the cable and plug connections, are you referring to the sensor that's sometimes integrated into the engine mount itself? I wasn't aware the rubber mount had a sensor. If so, how did you determine that was the source of the mount failure?

Yes, there's often a sensor there. Mine threw the error code and caused vibration issues at idle. I'd recommend a visit to the workshop if you aren't comfortable checking the connections yourself. They can pinpoint the issue accurately.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It proved invaluable. I inspected the engine mount and, sure enough, the plug wasn't fully seated. After securing the connection, the error disappeared, and the idling is now smooth. The vibration issues seem to have completely vanished. I'm glad it was such a simple fix, saving me a potential 95€ expense. Thanks again!

I also drive a Seat Ateca and had similar vibration issues and a defective engine warning. It turned out to be related to one of the engine mounts. These rubber mount components can be sensitive. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the mount itself? It's a common point of failure.
