Interesting analogy. Did the Renault also exhibit reduced engine power in conjunction with the delayed response, and was the throttle body your only issue? I am trying to narrow down the potential causes beyond the accelerator pedal module.

Yes, reduced power was definitely part of the problem. It felt like driving through treacle! Replacing the throttle body, which included the throttle sensor, resolved the issue completely. Given the symptoms you describe, a visit to the workshop may be worthwhile for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Following your advice, I visited a workshop. The throttle valve was indeed the culprit, tracing back to a defective throttle sensor. The replacement cost was 265€, and the issue is now resolved.

I experienced a similar situation with my old Renault Megane. The check engine light came on, and the car's response was delayed, particularly when accelerating. Have you inspected the air intake system for any obstructions?
