Seat Ateca Diesel Fuel System Problem

My 2016 Seat Ateca with a diesel engine is throwing a code related to the fuel filter heater. Mileage is at 118204 km and now I'm experiencing reduced engine power, poor engine response, and uneven idling. Fuel consumption is also up. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else run into this fuel system problem?

I had a similar issue with my Seat Ateca, though I can't remember the exact year. The symptoms you describe – reduced power and uneven idling – sound very familiar. Has the fuel filter been checked or replaced recently? When the engine is cold, is there engine stalling or other problems?

Interesting. Did you also get an error code related to the fuel filter? And was your fuel consumption also higher than usual?

Yes, I did get the error code and the fuel consumption was definitely up. In my case, it turned out to be the same issue. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to get a proper diagnosis. It is probably the cable or plug connection being defective.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable connector on the fuel filter heater. Replaced it for 95€. Runs like new now!
