Seat Ateca Electrical Glitches

I'm cheesed off. Picked up my new 2022 Seat Ateca with a gasoline engine and something's amiss. The navigation is completely dead, and I'm getting all sorts of weird electrical glitches. Feels like some car electronics are not working properly. Could it be linked to the immobilizer? I reckon it's a car configuration issue, but no idea how to fix it myself!

This sounds like transport mode is active. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia a few years back. Have you checked the car configuration settings? Does the navigation system work?

Transport mode? What exactly does that mean and how would that affect the immobilizer and other car electronics? Is there a way to disable it myself?

Yes, transport mode is a setting activated at the factory for new cars. It limits certain functions to preserve battery life during shipping. It can cause electrical malfunctions like you describe. You will need to get the dealer to deactivate it using their diagnostic tools. It's a simple fix, but requires specialized automotive software.

Cheers for the advice. Popped into the main dealer and they plugged it in. It was indeed the transport mode still active. They deactivated it in about five minutes. Car electronics are now working fine. No charge either, which was a bonus!
