Brake switch, huh? Where exactly is that located, and would a faulty switch cause the error code I'm seeing?

The brake switch is usually near the brake pedal. But if you're getting an error code and the parking brake is completely dead, it's more likely the motor, like you suspected. Could be a brake control module issue, but that's less common. Honestly, given the symptoms, I'd get it checked by a professional. Is it really worth risking vehicle safety?

Thanks for the insight. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Defective electric motor in the brake calliper. Cost me 505€, but at least it's fixed. Vehicle safety is paramount.

Sounds like a pain. Had something similar happen with my old Volvo. Electronic brake went haywire. Have you checked the brake switch? Sometimes it's a simple fix, sometimes not.
