Seat Ateca Electronic Parking Brake Problem

Has anyone else experienced electronic parking brake issues on their 2023 Seat Ateca Diesel? The electronic handbrake is completely unresponsive, the warning light is on, and there's an error stored. From what I've read, the likely culprit is a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. Could it be anything else?

Sounds like a pain. Had something similar happen with my old Volvo. Electronic brake went haywire. Have you checked the brake switch? Sometimes it's a simple fix, sometimes not.

The brake switch is usually near the brake pedal. But if you're getting an error code and the parking brake is completely dead, it's more likely the motor, like you suspected.
