The check engine light is indeed on constantly. Did you also experience issues with emissions or notice any specific noises? Was it also the PCV valve in your case?

Yes, constant check engine light. And yes, it was indeed the ventilation, or PCV valve. If you're seeing smoke, I'd say it's pretty much confirmed. Get it checked ASAP, you don't want to mess with emissions controls. Off to the workshop with it!

Thank you for confirming this. I have taken it to a workshop, and the crankcase ventilation valve was indeed defective. The repair cost was 360€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue permanently.

Reduced engine power and smoke? Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Ateca, though I can't recall the exact symptoms. Was the check engine light on constantly?
