Where is the fuel level car sensor located, and how do I check its connection? Is it easily accessible, or do I need special tools?

In my case, the car sensor was indeed the culprit. I wouldn't recommend messing with the fuel system yourself if you're not experienced. Best to take it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed and repaired. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause of the fuel gauge issue.

Took your advice and visited the workshop. It was a defective car sensor related to the fuel system, like you suggested. They replaced it. Total cost was 52€. Thanks for your help!

I had a similar issue with my Ateca a while back. The car dashboard was showing incorrect fuel levels, and the check engine light was on. Did you check the fuel level car sensor itself? Sometimes a faulty car electronics connection can cause these symptoms.
