Seat Ateca Parking Heater Problem

My Seat Ateca from with a diesel engine is throwing me a curveball. The parking heater won’t activate. There's an error stored in the error memory, though I haven't pinpointed it yet but I am fairly certain it is a glow plug issue. Anyone else run into something similar with their heating system or heat control? I've checked the basic stuff, like fuses, but no luck. Before I dive deeper, wanted to check if anyone had experience with this specific issue, or some pointers where to look at.

Sounds like a glow plug issue. I had the same problem with my Ateca’s parking heater. Does the error code point to that specifically? Though it could also potentially be something with the climate control module itself. Have you checked for any coolant leaks near the heater core? That can mess things up too.

Coolant leak is a no go, checked that already. I read out the error memory and it points towards the glow plug for the aux heater. When you had the issue, did you get the exact same symptoms? Did you also have an error stored?

Yep, exact same symptoms, same error message about the glow plug. Honestly, unless you have the right tools, I'd suggest just taking it to a workshop. It can be a pain to get to, and you need to make sure you're not going to mess anything else up with the climate control.

Right, thanks for the confirmation. Took it to the workshop, glow plug was indeed faulty. 440€ later, the auxiliary heating is working again. Appreciate the help.
