Seat Ateca Seat Heating Failure

My 2023 Seat Ateca, gasoline engine, with 92998 km on it, has a seat heating system that isn't working. It doesn't generate heat, and there's an error code. Diagnostics suggest a bad seat heating mat. Does that sound right?

Those symptoms do suggest a faulty heating element. Have you checked the thermal sensor? I had a similar problem with my old Volvo, but the whole seat had to come apart to get to the heating mat. Was the error code specific?

The thermal sensor was tested and is working. Are you saying some error codes point more directly to specific problems in the seat heating system?

Exactly. Some error codes can point to related parts like the sensor or wiring, instead of the heating element itself. Since you've confirmed the sensor is good, and the error code probably points to the heating mat, replacing it seems like the right move. I'd suggest taking it to a shop for the heating repair.

Repair went as expected the defective heating element was replaced. Total cost was 390€.
