Seat Ateca Sunroof Issue After Coding

Alright, I'm officially stumped. My 2016 Seat Ateca with a gasoline engine is giving me grief with the sunroof. It's got about 75538 km on the clock. The sunblind is stuck, and the whole convertible top is completely unresponsive. I think it started happening after some coding was carried out on the vehicle. The sunblind refuses to retract or extend. Could this be connected to the coding, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Has anyone had similar issues with their sunroof operation or sunroof mechanism?

The symptoms you describe certainly suggest an issue with the sunroof system's initialization. Since you mention coding, it's plausible the new settings are conflicting with the sunroof's default parameters. Have you tried any basic troubleshooting steps, such as checking the relevant fuses? Does the error message provide any specific codes?

Thanks for the reply! I did check the fuses, and they all seem to be fine. The error message is pretty generic, just says "Sunroof not initialized." I haven't really done anything else beyond that. Is there a way to perform a sunroof reset myself, or is that something that requires special software?

Given the error message and the timing with the coding, it's highly probable the sunroof system requires recalibration. While some basic resets can be performed manually, a proper sunroof reset usually necessitates diagnostic software to reinitialize the system. Considering the complexity, it might be prudent to consult a workshop with the appropriate tools. Continuing without proper intervention could risk further damage to the sunroof mechanism.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took it to a local garage, and they ran a sunroof reset with their diagnostic tool. Apparently, that's all it needed! Cost me 75€, which is a lot better than I was expecting. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction; I really appreciate it!
