Seat Ateca suspension issues

I'm getting desperate with my Seat Ateca from 2016 with a diesel engine! Recently, the vehicle started leaning to one side, and now it won't lift at all. The ride is incredibly bumpy, and I'm getting an error message on the speedometer related to the suspension system. The error memory also stores a fault. Could this be related to a defective bellows valve in the pneumatic suspension?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Seat Ateca with a diesel engine is experiencing suspension problems, including leaning to one side, a bumpy ride, and suspension system error messages. The problem is suspected to be a faulty bellows valve in the air suspension. A similar case suggested checking for air leaks, especially around the air springs or compressor, as a possible cause. The issue was confirmed by a workshop, and repair of the defective bellows valve was approved.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I also own a Seat Ateca and experienced similar symptoms with the pneumatic suspension. The leaning, bumpy ride, and error messages sound very familiar. Have you checked for any audible air leaks around the suspension system, especially near the air springs or the compressor? It could be a sign of a failing bellows valve.

Thanks for your input. I haven't checked for air leaks myself, I am not really experienced with suspension systems. Where exactly should I be listening for these air leaks, and how loud would they be?

Given your lack of experience, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. The air leak I experienced was noticeable near the suspension air bag itself – a hissing sound when the car tried to adjust the suspension. Since you have error messages and the car is leaning, it's likely a more serious air leak. Continuing to drive it in this condition could damage the compressor or other components of the suspension system. A faulty bellows valve seems like a very plausible cause.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. It seems like I have the same problem. I took the Ateca to a workshop and they confirmed that the bellows valve on the pneumatic suspension system is faulty. The cost for the repair is estimated at 590€. I've approved the repair, hopefully, it will solve all the issues.
