Seat Cordoba Active Hood Fault

My 2008 Seat Cordoba with a gasoline engine is showing an "Active hood fault" message on the on-board computer. The airbag warning lamp is also lit. I've checked the error memory and there's a fault stored related to the active hood system. Oddly, the spring actuators have triggered. I suspect it might be a defective acceleration sensor. Has anyone encountered this car safety issue before on this model? This pedestrian safety system is proving to be a nuisance. I hope it's not a wiring problem. It is frustrating when the hood latch releases unexpectedly.

I had a similar problem with my Cordoba. Same warning lights and messages. Did the spring actuators actually deploy, or just trigger an error?

The spring actuators were triggered, yes. Did you also have to replace the impact sensor or was it something else in your case?

Mine also deployed the actuators. I’d recommend getting it checked at a workshop. It's likely the impact sensor, and they'll be able to confirm and replace it.

Problem resolved. The acceleration sensor was indeed the cause. 315€ later, the active hood system is working correctly again. Thanks for the input; it was reassuring to know someone else had experienced the same issue.
