Seat Cordoba diesel electrical problems

I'm having electrical issues with my 2004 Seat Cordoba, diesel engine, with 143176 km. The battery keeps discharging, and I'm getting a speedometer error. The lights are weak and flickering, and it's hard to start the engine. I scanned the error memory, and an error is stored. Could a defective battery sensor cause this?

Sounds like a faulty battery sensor. I had similar issues with my Cordoba. Did you check for error codes with an OBD2 scanner?

An error code was stored. You mentioned a faulty battery sensor. Is this a common problem? Did it cause a significant battery drain for you too?

It is a known issue. The sensor can cause a constant battery drain. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper check. They can confirm the sensor and replace it if needed.

Thanks. It was the battery sensor, like you said. Replacement cost 315€. Everything's working now.
