Seat Cordoba emergency call malfunction

I am experiencing an issue with the emergency call system in my 2002 Seat Cordoba with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has approximately 63379 km. I am receiving an error message in the speedometer, and a warning light is illuminated. Diagnostic codes indicate a problem with the telematics system. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have a similar Seat Cordoba, though I am not sure about the year. I experienced a comparable emergency call failure a while back. If I recall correctly, I found some threads in other forums suggesting that the telematics unit can sometimes throw errors even if the car itself is fine. Have you checked the diagnostic codes using a proper scan tool? The specific codes might provide more insight.

Thank you for the quick response. Can you elaborate on the diagnostic codes that you retrieved when you had the emergency call malfunction?

Certainly. I wish I could remember the exact diagnostic codes, however, I do not. Based on the symptoms you described, it is reasonable to suspect a faulty connection. I suggest you have a workshop take a look at the wiring harness and the connectors associated with the emergency call module. Perhaps it may be best if a certified technician inspect it. It sounds like your emergency call system malfunction is of similar nature.

I appreciate you confirming that experience. I took it to a certified repair shop and they identified a defective plug connection, as you suggested. The emergency call system is now functioning normally after a cable repair. The total cost was 95€. Thank you for your assistance.
