Seat Cordoba engine stalls at idle

My 2003 Seat Cordoba with a gasoline engine, mileage at 94291 km, has the check engine light on and stalls at idle. I suspect it's a tank ventilation valve malfunction. I've visually inspected the hoses, but found no obvious cracks. Could it be clogged hoses in the EVAP system?

Sounds like an EVAP system issue. I had a similar problem with my Cordoba, check engine light and stalling at idle. Do you hear any hissing sounds coming from the fuel tank?

No, I don't hear hissing sounds. Where exactly was the problem in your EVAP system?

Mine was the tank ventilation valve itself. The hoses were also a bit suspect, but the valve was the main culprit. I'd suggest getting it checked by someone with proper diagnostic equipment. It is probably better to go to the workshop before throwing money at the problem.

Just wanted to close this out. The workshop confirmed it was the tank ventilation valve and clogged hoses, just like you said. Repair cost me 175€. Thanks for the help.
