Seat Cordoba engine stalls at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Seat Cordoba with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, suspected to be due to a tank ventilation valve malfunction. The owner visually inspected the hoses but found no obvious cracks, considering the possibility of clogged hoses in the EVAP system. Another individual with a similar issue suggested that the tank ventilation valve and potentially the hoses could be the problem, recommending professional diagnostic equipment for confirmation. Ultimately, the workshop confirmed the issue was indeed the tank ventilation valve and clogged hoses.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

No, I don't hear hissing sounds. Where exactly was the problem in your EVAP system?

Mine was the tank ventilation valve itself. The hoses were also a bit suspect, but the valve was the main culprit. I'd suggest getting it checked by someone with proper diagnostic equipment. It is probably better to go to the workshop before throwing money at the problem.

Just wanted to close this out. The workshop confirmed it was the tank ventilation valve and clogged hoses, just like you said. Repair cost me 175€. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like an EVAP system issue. I had a similar problem with my Cordoba, check engine light and stalling at idle. Do you hear any hissing sounds coming from the fuel tank?
