Cam sensor, you say? Interesting. Is that something that would also cause the crankshaft to camshaft reference value to be off? Any chance you recall the exact symptoms you had?

Yep, definitely sounds like what I went through. The reference value being off is a classic symptom. The car was sluggish, and it felt like I was towing a boat anchor. If the crank sensor is sending bad info, the ECU doesn't know where anything is. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked by a professional, especially since it involves timing. Messing with that can cause some real damage. Better safe than sorry!

Just wanted to say that following your advice, I went to the shop. It was the crankshaft sensor. They replaced it, the engine light is off, and the car runs like new. Cost 340€, but worth it. Thanks again for the help.

Sounds like a similar problem to what I had with my Cordoba. I had the engine light on, power loss, and terrible fuel consumption. Have you checked the cam sensor? That can throw off the whole timing and cause issues. It's like the conductor of an orchestra missing a beat – everything goes out of sync! It might also be worth checking the condition of your timing belt if you haven't already.
