Thanks for the quick reply I haven't actually checked the wiring myself Honestly I wouldn't even know where to start Is it easy to get to the wiring harness in the door And what exactly am I looking for I mean how would I know if a connection is 'defective' Is there a way to test the door switch

Based on your description it's highly probable that the issue lies within the door electronics wiring perhaps related to a door switch Given your lack of experience in electrical diagnostics I recommend taking the vehicle to a qualified workshop Attempting to diagnose this issue without the proper tools and knowledge could potentially worsen the problem The estimated repair cost of 95€ seems reasonable for addressing a wiring fault or replacing a connector It is always best to have a professional inspect the car door

Fantastic news I took your advice and went to the workshop Turns out it was as you suspected a faulty connection in the door electronics They replaced the plug cleared the error memory and now the keyless entry is working perfectly again The bill came to 95€ Thanks so much for your help You really saved me a lot of unnecessary worry

The symptoms you describe certainly point towards a fault in the door electronics Given the error memory and the keyless access malfunction the 'likely cause' assessment is plausible A defective cable or plug connection for the door switch or related sensor is a common issue Have you inspected the door wiring harness for any obvious signs of damage or corrosion
