Seat Cordoba rough running problem
Summary of the thread
The 2005 Seat Cordoba experienced intermittent starting issues, frequent stalling at idle, rough running, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light illuminated. Diagnosis indicated a potential defect in the fuel pump, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. The suggested solution was to inspect the electrical connector to the fuel pump for corrosion or looseness. Ultimately, professional repair confirmed a defective cable connection, resolving the issue.

Thank you for your response. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by 'bad connection'? Are you referring to a specific component or area that I should inspect?

Yeah, sorry for not being clear. I meant the electrical connector that plugs directly into the fuel pump. It might be corroded or loose. But honestly, fiddling with fuel lines can be risky. If you're not comfortable with car mechanics, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and ensure there are no leaks or other problems.

I appreciate your insight regarding the potential fuel pump issue. I followed your suggestion and took it to a professional. It turned out that, as suspected, the cable connection to the fuel pump was defective. The auto repair cost me 95€, and the gasoline delivery issue is now resolved.

Sounds like a fuel pump issue alright. I had something similar happen with my Cordoba. Engine stalling at idle, check engine light, the whole nine yards. It could be something as simple as a bad connection. Think of it like a water hose that's kinked – the fuel can't get through properly.
