Seat Cordoba Seat Heater Problem

I'm at my wit's end with this blasted seat heater in my 2006 Seat Cordoba! It's a gasoline engine. With only 53700 km on the clock, the seat heating refuses to get warm. Naturally, there's an error stored in the error memory. From what I've gathered, the likely culprit is a defective seat heating mat. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything else I should check before I resign myself to an expensive heating repair?

Sounds like a busted heating element. I had a similar issue with my Cordoba. Did you check the thermal sensor?

Interesting. Where exactly is the thermal sensor located? And did your error memory also show a specific fault related to the seat heating?

The sensor's integrated with the heating element in the mat, I recall. Yeah, the ECU flagged a short to ground. Likely the heating mat's kaput. Best to get it checked at a workshop.

Alright, I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. I took it to a workshop and, as you suspected, the seat heating mat was defective. They replaced it, cleared the error memory, and now it's working perfectly. Total cost was about 390€. Thanks again for your help!
