Thanks for the quick reply! The sound system is completely dead, no audio output at all. I've tried the radio and USB audio, but nothing. You mentioned sound distortion. I didn't have any distortion before it stopped working completely. Could it still be the car speakers?

Okay, the complete lack of sound makes me think even more that a speaker has gone bad, possibly shorting something out. Even without distortion beforehand, a speaker failure is a common issue and can kill the whole sound system. Given that you've tried different sources and it's still dead, the best course of action is probably to get it checked out by a professional at a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact cause and replace the faulty component.

Took it to a workshop, and as you suspected, the bass speaker was indeed the culprit. Cost me 280€ to get it sorted, but the sound system is working perfectly again. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Seat Ibiza. Is the sound system completely dead, or are you getting any sound at all? Have you tried different audio sources like the radio or USB audio to see if that makes a difference? It could be a blown fuse, but from my experience, sound distortion often points to the car speakers.
