Seat Exeo Airbag Warning Lamp Issue

Right, so I'm getting seriously stressed out right now. The airbag warning lamp on my 2009 Seat Exeo (diesel engine, about 180295 km on the clock) keeps lighting up! It's driving me nuts. I'm worried about the whole restraint system failing and the airbags not deploying if I crash. I've heard it could be a defective cable or plug connection somewhere. Has anyone else had this airbag repair issue?

Summary of the thread

The airbag warning lamp on a 2009 Seat Exeo was persistently lighting up, causing concern about potential airbag deployment failure. The issue was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by checking connections under the seats. Following this advice, a loose connection in the airbag system was identified and fixed by a professional, resolving the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, airbag light issues are the worst! I had something similar happen with my old Renault Megane. The airbag warning lamp was constantly on. I read that it could be a faulty airbag sensor or even a sign of potential airbag deployment problems. You might want to check the connections under the seats. Is the light constantly on, or does it flicker?

Under the seats, huh? I'll have a look when I get a chance. So, was it the connections under the seats in your Renault, then? What did you do exactly?

Yep, turned out to be a dodgy connection under the driver's seat in the Megane. I tried fiddling with it myself, but honestly, I'd just get it checked by a professional. Airbag stuff is too important to mess with if you don't know what you're doing. They'll probably check the airbag sensor and other components to be sure.

Dude, just wanted to say thanks a million for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. They found a loose connection in the airbag system. Bill came to 95€ which is way better than a new airbag module or something! I'm just glad it's sorted and I can drive without that stupid light on my dash. Vehicle safety is no joke!
