Seat Exeo Auxiliary Heater Problem

Experiencing issues with the auxiliary heater on my 2011 Seat Exeo (gasoline engine). The parking heater refuses to activate, and there's an error stored in the error memory, pointing towards a defective glow plug. Could this be the only cause? Or should I have a look at other parts?

Strange issue. I had something similar with my Exeo's auxiliary heater. Does your climate control show any unusual behavior, and what about the blower motor speed? Do you know if a temperature sensor error maybe is stored? Hope it is not the heater core. Sounds like a costly repair.

Interesting, so the climate control behaving strangely is also a symptom for you? By strangely – what exactly do you mean? And did you also have a fault code stored relating to the auxiliary heater?

Yes exactly, climate control acted erratically before the heater completely failed. And yes, fault code pointed to the heater. It was the glow plug in my case, but honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop. Way easier than messing with it myself. Hope that clears things up.

Thanks for the confirmation. As suspected, the glow plug was indeed the culprit. Had it replaced, and the parking heater is now functioning as expected. Total cost: 440€. Appreciate the help!
