Seat Exeo climate control malfunction

I am experiencing climate issues with my 2012 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has 84396 km on the odometer. The automatic temperature control is no longer working as expected. Furthermore, an error is stored in the error memory, and the air conditioning system does not switch on. From my research, a likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection related to the HVAC sensor. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

That sounds familiar. I also have a Seat Exeo, and I experienced similar climate issues last year. The automatic temperature control stopped working correctly, and I think I also had an error code stored. Could it be the interior temperature sensor?

Interesting. Did you also notice that the air conditioning system wouldn't switch on? Was the temperature reading completely off, or just fluctuating?

Yes, the air conditioning was not working either. As for the temperature reading, I couldn't really tell if it was fluctuating, but the climate control was definitely not regulating the temperature properly. I would suggest checking the sensor, but you might need to visit a workshop to get it properly diagnosed.

Good to know. I took your advice and went to the workshop. They confirmed the HVAC sensor was faulty, likely due to a defective plug connection. The climate regulation is now working again. The repair cost me 95€. Thank you for your help.
