Seat Exeo Diesel Engine Problems

My 2010 Seat Exeo diesel is jerking when accelerating. The check engine light is on, and engine power is reduced. The engine sometimes stalls. Error memory shows a fault. Could this be a defective intake manifold? There's also a strong exhaust smell and rough engine running. I suspect a leaking intake manifold due to scorching.

I had a similar experience with my Seat Leon diesel. Jerky acceleration and a strong exhaust smell. Check for vacuum leaks around the manifold and the manifold pressure sensor. It could be a gasket leak causing engine misfire. Does the engine stall at idle?

Vacuum leaks around the car manifold? How do I check for those?

A garage would use a smoke machine to check for vacuum leaks. Given the symptoms, a leaking intake manifold due to scorching is plausible. The stored error and reduced power suggest this. It's best to get it checked professionally rather than attempting a DIY fix. I went to a workshop.

The garage confirmed the intake manifold was faulty. A replacement fixed the problem. The bill came to 1180€. The car runs smoothly now. Thanks for the advice.
