Seat Exeo Engine Trouble

My 2009 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls when idling. I also feel like the engine power is reduced. Could this be a defective fuel pressure regulator?

I had a similar problem with my Exeo: check engine light, stalling at idle. Have you checked the fuel system, especially the fuel pressure sensor? A pressure drop could cause those symptoms. Misfire is no fun.

Fuel pressure sensor? Where is that located? What exactly does it do?

The fuel pressure sensor monitors the fuel pressure in the fuel rail and is usually located on the fuel rail itself. If it's faulty, it can cause all sorts of issues with the fuel system. Given that it happened after a fuel filter change, a pressure drop seems likely, or maybe it's just a bad sensor now. I would recommend taking it to a workshop to be certain.

It was the fuel pressure regulator, like you suggested. The replacement cost 45€. The error appeared after I changed the fuel filter. Thanks for the help.
