Seat Exeo exhaust back pressure sensor issue

My 2013 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The exhaust back pressure sensor warning light is on. It's got 135885 km on the clock. Now it smokes on acceleration and the DPF won't regenerate. Is this likely the sensor?

Sounds like the exhaust back pressure sensor is gone. I had a similar issue with my Exeo, warning light and all. Does it struggle during acceleration?

Yeah, acceleration is rough. Where is the exhaust sensor located? Is it difficult to replace?

Mine behaved the same way. It's probably best to take it to a workshop. They can confirm it with diagnostics. Replacing it yourself can be tricky without the right tools and knowledge about the exhaust system and emission control.

It was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. Replaced it, and the car runs like new. Cost me 245€, but worth it to get rid of that smoke.
