Thanks for the suggestion. The spark plugs were replaced recently, but the oxygen sensor is a good point. Did you end up replacing yours, and did it solve the problem for you?

I did replace the oxygen sensor, but it didn't completely resolve the issue. It improved things slightly, but the problem persisted. The garage eventually diagnosed faulty fuel injectors. After replacing those, it ran perfectly again. It might be worth getting them checked professionally.

The garage confirmed faulty fuel injectors were the issue. Replacing them has made the engine run smoothly, and fuel consumption is back to normal. The total cost was 515€, so I appreciate the input and confirmation that I wasn't completely wrong.

That sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Renault Megane: check engine light, rough running, the whole deal. Have you checked the basics like spark plugs and the oxygen sensor? A rich mixture can also damage the catalytic converter, so keep an eye on that.
