Seat Exeo Oxygen Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Seat Exeo owner is experiencing a check engine light issue, with an error indicating an oxygen sensor heater failure. The problem is suspected to be due to a bad connection in the cable or plug. A similar case suggests that the heater element in the oxygen sensor might be faulty. The recommended solution is to have the sensor checked and potentially replaced by a mechanic, which resolved the issue and improved vehicle performance.

Yeah, the fuel consumption has definitely jumped up. It's burning more fuel than usual. How did you know about the oxygen sensor heater exactly? Did you also get an error code relating to vehicle emissions?

My Exeo was doing the EXACT same thing! Check engine light, the works. Turns out, the heater element in the oxygen sensor was kaput. I'd say get it checked out at a workshop, just to be sure. I was also thinking it can be related to older car components.

Okay, I really appreciate your help. I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on! It was the oxygen sensor heater. New sensor installed, error gone, and she's running smooth again. Cost me 95€, parts and labor included.

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had something real similar happen with my Exeo. Check engine light and all. Is your fuel consumption higher than normal? I'm no expert but are the car components running as expected?
