Seat Exeo Solar Sensor Fault

Alright, bit of a head-scratcher. My 2011 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine is throwing up a solar sensor fault. Only done 54327 km. The heating isn't kicking out much heat, and the error memory mentions something about the solar sensor. Suspect it's a dodgy connection according to the fault detection, but where do I even start?

Hey! I had something similar happen with my Exeo. Same symptoms – the heating wasn't great, and the error memory showed a fault with the daylight sensor or HVAC sensor (basically the same thing). Did you check the wiring and plug connection to the sensor? That's usually the culprit. It's often a simple fix, but you need to know where to look.

Cheers for the tip! Where exactly is that sensor located? I had a quick look, but couldn't spot it straight away. What does it look like?

Okay, so on mine (it's the same model, but I don't recall the exact year) the sensor is located on top of the dashboard, near the windshield. It's a small, usually round, sensor that measures sunlight intensity. If the connection is faulty, it messes with the HVAC system. Honestly, unless you're confident with car electrics, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose the car sensor issue and fix the cable or plug connection.

Thanks a bunch for the help! I took it to a garage, and you were spot on – dodgy connection on the solar sensor. 95€ and it's sorted! Heating's blasting hot air again, just in time for winter.
