Seat Exeo starting issues and dim lights

I have a 2011 Seat Exeo with a gasoline engine and around 199414 km on it. Lately, I've noticed the car struggling to start sometimes, and the lights seem a bit dim or flicker occasionally. Could this be a bad battery sensor? I've read that it can cause these issues.

I also have a Seat Exeo and experienced similar issues. Have you checked the battery voltage when the engine is running? A faulty battery sensor can definitely cause those symptoms. It might be worth looking into battery health as well.

How did you confirm it was the battery sensor specifically? Did you also have weak lights?

Yes, the flickering lights were a key symptom for me too. Initially, I suspected the alternator, but testing showed it was fine. A diagnostic check pointed to the battery sensor. Given your symptoms, I would suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop to confirm.

Replaced the battery sensor. Cost 315€. Hopefully, this solves the problem.
