Seat Exeo tire and steering problems

My Seat Exeo built in with a diesel engine is throwing up some weird issues. The low tire warning light is on, but that's not all. The ABS lamp is also lit, the steering wheel is vibrating like crazy, and the steering is heavy, like the power steering has packed it in. Could a simple low tire really cause all of this I'm thinking maybe there's an air leak somewhere. I've had a quick look but can't see any obvious punctures.

That's quite a worrying combination of symptoms A low tire could definitely trigger the tire monitoring system and throw a warning. But the ABS light and steering issues suggest something more might be going on. Is it possible the low tire is on the front axle If so, could the pressure loss be significant enough to affect steering and perhaps even confuse the ABS sensors I'm no expert, but it seems like a drastic pressure loss on one side could impact how the ABS system interprets wheel speed data. Have you checked the pressure in all your tires

Thanks for the quick reply Yes, the low tire is on the front left. I did check the pressure, and it was significantly lower than the others. I inflated it, and the warning light went off, but it came back on after only a short drive. The steering still feels heavy and the ABS light is still on, so maybe it's not just the tire pressure then Could a damaged tire cause all of this

Okay, the fact that the warning light came back on so quickly after inflation strongly suggests a persistent air leak. A damaged tire, especially a slow puncture or a faulty valve, is the most probable culprit. Given the other symptoms, and the fact that the pressure loss is significant, it's very plausible that this is causing all of your issues. I am not a mechanic but I would suggest you get it checked out at a workshop.

Took it to the workshop and you were spot on A valve in the tire was defective, causing a slow air leak. New valve and balancing later, and the low tire warning, ABS light, and steering issues are all gone. Cost me about 280€, but at least it's sorted. Thanks a million for your help
