Seat Formentor ABS Issues

I haven't checked the wheel speed sensors individually, but the diagnostic pointed towards a general speed signal fault and ABS failure. It also mentioned something about the ECM not receiving the correct speed data. Could a faulty sensor really cause the ECM to mess up the speed signal and throw all those errors?

Yeah, the ECM gets its speed data from the ABS module. If the ABS module is sending garbage data, the ECM will think the car is doing something it isn't. Since the diagnostic is pointing to a control unit issue and affecting the odometer, it sounds like the ABS module itself is toast. I'd take it to a workshop to get a proper diagnosis and replacement. Saved me a lot of guesswork when I had that issue.

Took it to the shop as you suggested. The diagnostic confirmed the control unit was indeed faulty. They replaced it, and the ABS is working perfectly again. The odometer reading is correct now too. Cost me about 1000€. Thanks for the advice!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar ABS issue with my Seat Leon, traction control light was on constantly. The ABS was completely dead. Have you checked the wheel speed sensors? A faulty sensor can sometimes trigger similar symptoms. Also, did you run a diagnostic to check for error codes?
