Seat Formentor Bypass Valve Problem

My 2020 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine keeps throwing a bypass valve malfunction error. The engine is overheating. I reckon it's a consequential error resulting from something else. Could it be the exhaust system? Any ideas before I start throwing money at car repair?

Coolant leak, you say? Where exactly should I be looking for that coolant leak? And what exhaust system issues did you have? Did you notice any power loss as well?

Check around the usual suspects for coolant leaks – hoses, radiator, water pump. My exhaust system had a minor crack, which caused the engine to work harder and overheat, triggering the bypass valve error. Yes, I did experience some power loss before I identified the issue. The error will show up due to overheating, but the root cause might be elsewhere. Take it to a workshop, they will sort you out.

You were spot on. The workshop checked the exhaust system for leaks. A small coolant leak was causing the engine to overheat, which triggered the bypass valve error. The car repair cost 0€, covered under warranty. Thanks for your help.
