Coolant leak, you say? Where exactly should I be looking for that coolant leak? And what exhaust system issues did you have? Did you notice any power loss as well?

Check around the usual suspects for coolant leaks – hoses, radiator, water pump. My exhaust system had a minor crack, which caused the engine to work harder and overheat, triggering the bypass valve error. Yes, I did experience some power loss before I identified the issue. The error will show up due to overheating, but the root cause might be elsewhere. Take it to a workshop, they will sort you out.

You were spot on. The workshop checked the exhaust system for leaks. A small coolant leak was causing the engine to overheat, which triggered the bypass valve error. The car repair cost 0€, covered under warranty. Thanks for your help.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Seat Formentor. Error memory kept showing bypass valve malfunction, alongside engine overheating. Have you checked for any coolant leaks? Or inspected the exhaust system for any issues?
