Seat Formentor central locking malfunction

I'm getting seriously frustrated with my 2022 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine. The central locking has completely stopped working! None of the doors will lock or unlock, and I'm getting an error message. I've read that it could be a defective cable or plug connection to the component. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm dreading this, does anyone know what the problem could be?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my Formentor. The car alarm kept going off randomly, and then the door locks started acting up. Have you checked the fuse box? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause weird issues with the car locks.

Interesting! Did you also get any errors in the error memory? And where exactly was the fuse located that caused your problems? I'll check mine tomorrow to see if anything is obviously wrong before I take it in. I'm hoping it's not the entire locking mechanism!

Yep, the error memory was full of messages related to the door locks. I didn't mess with it myself, to be honest. I took it straight to the workshop. I would suggest the same. They diagnosed it as a faulty connection to one of the door locks. Could be worth getting them to check it out before it messes with the car alarm or something worse!

Big thanks for the advice! Turns out it was exactly what you suspected - a dodgy connection. Got it sorted at the workshop. They said the cable to the door lock was loose. Cost me 95€, so not too bad. I will keep an eye on the fuse box, just in case. Cheers!
