Did you also get the particulate filter warning light? And did you notice any smoke? I'm seeing both, plus the strong smell is pretty bad. Where was the problem, exactly?

Yep, the particulate filter light was on for me as well. And now that you mention it, there was a bit of smoke, especially when starting up. If the diagnostics are pointing to the pressure sensor, I'd bet that's the problem. It could be a faulty sensor giving incorrect readings to the emission control system. It's best to get it checked at a workshop, those diesel engine emission control systems can be tricky.

Just to let you know, the issue is resolved. You were right, it was the exhaust back pressure sensor. I had a new one fitted and all the warnings disappeared. It cost 245€ including labour. Thanks for the help!

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Formentor's diesel engine a while ago. I had reduced power and a weird smell. Was it throwing any codes?
