Seat Formentor Diesel Engine Running Rough
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Seat Formentor with a diesel engine is experiencing rough running and a check engine light, with an error indicating a need to 'reset quantity drift compensation.' The issue is suspected to be related to a defect in an injection valve or injector, potentially caused by inaccurate data from car sensors. A similar case confirmed that a faulty injector was the cause, and after replacement and a system reset, the engine ran smoothly again.

Interesting. When you had the issue, did the diagnostic error specifically mention 'reset quantity drift compensation,' or was it a more general engine fault code? I'm trying to understand if the airflow sensors could directly trigger this specific error, or if it's more likely the injector itself.

Yes, the error code was similar, pointing towards a compensation adjustment issue. I spent ages looking at it myself but eventually gave in and took it to a workshop. They confirmed the injector was at fault. Save yourself the headache and get it checked by a professional. It's like trying to fix a watch with a hammer – you might get lucky, but you're more likely to break something.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. After taking it to the workshop, the diagnosis pointed to a faulty injector. Following the replacement and a system reset, the engine runs smoothly again. The total damage was 515€, but at least the Formentor is back on the road.

I experienced something similar in my Formentor. Rough running engine and the check engine light were the key indicators. Have you checked your airflow sensors? Sometimes a faulty reading there can throw off the whole compensation adjustment.
