Interesting, I have not checked the water sensor connections. Where exactly is the water sensor located, and how would I go about testing the connections? I am not too familiar with electrical faults.

Okay, so I am no expert but with my Leon the problem was a loose connection on the moisture sensor itself. I'd suggest giving those connections a wiggle – cautiously, of course! If that doesn't do it, maybe get a professional to do some sensor testing. Honestly, after messing with it myself for a bit, I just took it to a workshop. Saved me a ton of hassle.

Big thanks for the insights! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turned out to be a faulty connection to the water sensor. They cleaned it up and the error's gone. Cost me 95€, which is way better than a new sensor. Appreciate the help!

Oh, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Seat – though it's a Leon. The check engine light kept popping up, and it was a real pain. Have you checked the water sensor connections? Could be a simple electrical fault.
